Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom, a massive drive regarding the regulation of schedule H, H1& X medicines and installation of CCTV and adoption of computerized billing system was started by Drugs Control department Anantnag. During the special drive, Drugs Control Officers Anantnag inspected the drug sale establishments in the areas of Janglatmandi, Harnag, Batengu, Shairbagh Khanabal, Nai Basti, K P Road, Kokernag town etc. More than 50 inspections were carried out, operations of 09 medical sale establishments were disallowed and 4 were given show cause notice for different violations of conditions of licenses and failure to adhere to the directions regarding installation of CCTV. Gunshots have been heard in the Ara Khashipora area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday evening joint Forces incuding Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and Central Reserve Police Force jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the area following inputs about Militant movement in the area. 31 year old Woman Commits suicide in Kokernag

Waris Shah A 31-year-old woman was found lying dead in his room in Chree Panzgam village of kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday. A police official told  The Kashmiriyat that a Women name (withheld) ended her life possibly by hanging herself at his residence at Chree Pangzgam village. He said that the Woman was rushed to the district hospital where doctors declared her dead. The body was then handed over to the family after completing necessary medical formalities.
