Three Drug Peddlers Arrested in Anantnag

The Jammu Kashmir Police on Monday arrested three drug peddlers in the Anantnag district of South Kashmir. In a press release issued to The Kashmiriyat, the Police said that continuing it's war against drug peddlers arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession. A Police party from Police Post Janglat Mandi laid by DO Janaglat Mandi established a Naka near Shawala Mandir and intercepted an Alto car bearing chassis registration number CH. No. 0869, and during search of the vehicle fifty (50) Codeine phosphate bottles were recovered from the possession of three persons namely Shakir Ahmed Naikoo, a resident of Bulbul Nowgam, Mudasir Ahmed Dar and Waseem Ahmed Dar, both residents of Brakpora Anantnag. House Damaged During Fire Incident in Anantnag Area

Sheikh Nadeem A single-storey residential house was gutted in a fire incident at the Palpora area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a massive fire broke out around 2 am during the night in the residential house of Mohammad Assadullah Bhat son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat at Palpora Dailgam area of Anantnag. Later on, locals rushed towards to the spot and with the help of fire tenders tried to douse the flames but could not save the house. In this mishap, the one-storey house was completely damaged, however, nobody was injured in the incident, the official said. The cause of the fire was not known immediately known.

Sheikh Nadeem The Residents of Ara Koshipora and its adjacents of district Anantnag alleged that the spreading of 33,000 Electricity Wireline that is under the process for the receiving station has a gap of less than twelve inches, and is just only one and a half feet from LT line running below. The Locals say that this may cause huge danger or a major accident any time that could affect an entire settlement. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the locals said demanded that the existential poles be replaced and new bigger electric poles be installed. "This is a deliberate mistake on the part of the contractors and the department to make the people of Khashipura suffer," a local said. The Locals appealed to PDD to look into the matter and intervene immediately.

Waris Shah The body of a 35-year-old man was recovered from a Nallah in the Dooru area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a male dead body was found dead under mysterious conditions in Nallah Sandran near Poolia Verinag in Anantnag. Upon verification, the body was found to be that of Reyaz Ahmad Chachi son of Alam Din-Chachi of Hallan area in Verinag. The Jammu Kashmir Police rushed to the spot upon receiving information from the locals. Details awaited.

Suhail Dar Two persons were shot by unknown gunmen in the Jablipora area of Bijbehara of Anantnag in South Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday evening unknown persons shot at two persons in the Jablipora area, resulting in their injuries, The duo was rushed to the hospital. One of them identified as Sanjeed Ahmed Parray aged 19, a resident of Jablipora died of his injuries at Sub-District hospital in Bijbehara. The Second person identified as Shaan Ahmed Bhat Son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat aged 35, also succumbed to his injuries at the District hospital of Anantnag.

Suhail Dar An 18-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide in the Mattan Chowk area of Anantnag town in South Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that the boy (name withheld) was found hanging in his house by his family members after which they rushed him to the hospital. However, upon his arrival at the hospital, he was declared brought dead by the doctors. Details emerging.

Waris Shah A 52-year-old man was killed after being was hit by a speeding biker in Shangus area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, An official told The Kashmiriyat that a pedestrian identified as Gulzar Ahmed Sheikh, who was a resident of was hit by a motorcyclist on Thursday afternoon, causing serious injuries to him. Gulzar Ahmed was immediately shifted to the nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival. He said the biker managed to flee from the spot as it was a hit and run case. "An investigation has been taken up in this regard," the official said.

Waris Shah A 50 yr old man injured in a Scuffle Between two families in the Dupathyar area of Bijbehara of south Kashmir's Anantnag district Five days Ago Succumbed at SKIMS on Sunday. An official told The Kashmiriyat that Abdul Gani son of Sidiq Mir, a resident of Dupathyar Bijbehara was admitted to SKIMS Soura on 12 May after being seriously injured in a scuffle between two families at Dupathyar Bijbehara.
