Kulgam Court Sentences CRPF Man to Life for Killing Colleagues

A Court in Kulgam has sentenced a CRPF personnel to life imprisonment for killing three of his colleagues and injuring the fourth critically. The Sessions Judge at Kulgam's District court sentenced a CRPF man to Life for murdering three colleagues on 24 November 2011. The incident happened on 24 December, 2011 when a CRPF man named Sanjay Kumar shot at his three friends, killing them on the spot and injuring one more colleague critically. He was immediately arrested and an FIR Number 271/ 2011 was refistered against him in the Police Station Kulgam, US 307 and 302 of the Ranbir Penal code. On Tuesday, the District court in Kulgam sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Clashes erupted as scores of youth hit the streets of Pudshoo in Lukadpora area of South Kashmir that falls between the Pulwama and Kulgam District. Danishwar Hameed A six-year-old boy was mauled to death by a leopard at Manzgam area of Damhal Hanjipora in Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday evening. A Police official confirming the death to The Kashmiriyat said that a boy namely Uman Farooq Baba, son of Farooq Ahmad Baba, was attacked by a leopard in the Mazngam area late on Tuesday evening. "The screams of the boy attracted the attention of the people around, and they rushed to the spot and retrieved the boy from clutches of the leopard in critical conditions>: Uman was rushed to the nearby Primary Health Centre (PHC) where doctors declared him brought dead.
