Defunct, filthy washrooms: GMC Baramulla says contract given to R&B, work to start this week

Days after a section of media highlighted the defunct and filthy Washroom Complexes of Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, the hospital administration today said that the contract has been allotted to Roads and Buildings Department and the work on the Washroom Complexes will commence within days.

Pertinently, Government Medical College Baramulla came under sharp criticism after the filthy and defunct Washroom Complexes of the hospital went viral on different social media platforms a couple of days ago.

Administrative Officer, GMC, Baramulla said that the issue of defunct drainage and disposal of washroom complexes has been contracted to the R&B Department, and all the codal formalities have been completed.

The R & B Department has tendered the repair and renovation works and within this week the works on the washroom complexes are going to commence and the complexes shall soon be made fully functional.

He said the issue has been on the top priority of the Hospital Administration and the long-standing public grievance shall be rectified in the very coming days for smooth and efficient patient care. (KNT)
