Fire Breaks Out In North Kashmir’s Lolab Forest

On Tuesday, clouds of smoke were observed by the locals at multiple locations in the Lolab forest area of north Kashmir’s frontier district. A massive fire broke out in the forest area.

While talking to The Kashmiriyat, the locals from North Kashmir’s Warnow Affan told that they saw smoke billowing from the nearby forests. On visiting the location, locals witnessed a major part of the forest area including vegetation razed to ashes.

In the present moment, the fire is gradually spreading to other parts of the forest area.

In a separate incident, blaze has broken out in compartment numbers 36 and 37 falling in upper reaches of Trumakhan forest area in the frontier district.

Meanwhile, local residents told The Kashmiriyat that there have been frequent fire incidents in the forests sometime now, which has damaged the green-gold to a great extent.
