Srinagar boat tragedy: Religious clerics from all ideologies visit Gandabal, express solidarity

Along with hundreds of locals from various parts of the Kashmir valley, religious clerics from Sunni, Shia and Ahli Hadith schools of thought visited Gandabal area of Srinagar to express solidarity with the bereaved families.

Moulana Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri visited the families on Wednesday and expressed grief over the sad demise of the 6 individuals in the tragic incident. He sought prayers for the individuals who lost their lives.

Moulana Abdul Rashid Dawoodi of Saut ul Awliya also visited the bereaved families and also expressed hope that the three persons missing are found at the earliest.

Aga Syed Hadi Kashmiri also expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and said every Kashmiri is united in grieving over the tragic loss.

Pertinently, on Tuesday morning, 19 individuals aboard a boat crossing the Jhelum river tragically drowned, resulting in the loss of six lives. Ten others were rescued, while three individuals remain missing.
