The authenticity of the video remains unconfirmed,  The Telegraph said in its report.

National Conference spokesperson Sarah Hayat Shah condemned the incident, highlighting it as alarming for the region’s dynamics.

“Shocking! Man in uniform holds the arm of an Elderly Kashmiri Muslim man firmly, asks him to utter Religious (Hindu) slogan “Jai Shri Ram”. Wow! This is NAYA KASHMIR. Hoshiyaar, Khabardaar. ALLAHU-AKBAR,” Sarah tweeted.

In the 10-second clip, a masked security force member prompts the elderly Kashmiri to recite the Hindu religious slogan, “Jai Shri Ram,” while gesturing with a raised fist. The elderly man complies, though appearing bewildered. Notably, a fire pot belonging to the elderly man is visible nearby.

The deliberate filming of the interaction is evident, with the elderly man acknowledging the camera’s presence.

However, the source of the video remains unclear.

Despite social media users urging Jammu and Kashmir police for clarification, no official response has been provided.

The identity of the uniformed individual—whether army, paramilitary, or police—is also uncertain.
