Kulgad Residents Out on Streets to Protest Power Crisis in the Area

January 28 The resident of Kulgad area in Achabal belt of Islamabad (Anantnag) district in South Kashmir on Monday morning demanded the restoration of electricity in the area. Shouting slogans against the Power Development Department, scores of people said that electricity has been playing only "hide and seek" with them. The residents of this south Kashmir village are facing the worst power supply ever, they alleged. Babri Masjid Case Will not be Heard on January 29

January 28 Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute case will not be taken up for hearing by 5-judge constitution bench of Supreme Court on January 29 due to the non-availability of Justice SA Bobde. Earlier on January 25, Justices Ashok Bhushan and S A Nazeer, who were part of an earlier 3-judge bench were selected to be on the newly constituted 5-judge bench in the case. January 28 A complete shutdown is being observed in Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday against the arrest of a local youth by Dehli police. Grenade Attack on Army Camp in Shopian

January 27 Unknown persons hurled a grenade on an Army camp in Ahgam area of South Kashmir's Shopian District late evening on Sunday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons UBGL on an Army camp in Ahagam which missed the target and exploded near the wall of the Army camp. January 27 A cordon and search operation has been launched by Government Forces in Baramulla District of North Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday, the 29 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a search operation in Tappar Area of Pattan in North Kashmir's Baramulla District. Tral Shuts on the Fourth Anniversary of Militant Commander Abid Khan

January 27 South Kashmir's Tral hamlet has shut down on Sunday to commemorate the fourth anniversary of Slain Hizb commander, Abid Khan. The Kashmiriyat reporter, Sikander Gul reported that all shops and business establishments are shut in the town while roads are wearing a deserted look. Abid was killed in an encounter with Government Forces on 27 Janaury in 2015 along with his associate Sheeraz Ahmed in Handoora area of Tral. Pertinently two Government Force personnel including a top rank official of Indian Army was also killed on the encounter.
