Body of a Minor fished out from a Nallah in Anantnag

Sheikh Nadeem The body of a 10-year-old minor who drowned yesterday in a nallah in South Kashmir's Anantnag district was fished out today, in the early morning. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat the body of a 10-year-old identified as Musharaf Hassan has been fished out from Nallah at Shiekh Takiya Hiller on Saturday morning after hectic efforts by teams of SDRF, Police and locals. The body was handed over to the family for final rites after all the legal and medical formalities had been done. Pertinently Muhshraf had drowned in the Brengi Nallah on Friday morning after which Police had launched operations to retrieve his body.

In a continuation of protests against the blasphemous comment by a Hindu priest in India, massive protest demonstration was held from the Jamia Masjid of Islamabad (Anantnag). Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday scores of people led by Ummat -E- Islam chairman, Qazi Ahmed Yasir, shouting pro Islamic slogans protested in the Jamia Masjid compound. Addressing the gathering here, the chairman of Ummat -E- Islami said that time and again it has been proven that India is loosing space for minorities. An accident happened in Pahalgam area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district when a motorcycle collided with a load carrier. According to official sources, the motorcyclist died on the spot after a collision between load carrier (JK03E-2644) and motorcycle (JK03-0554) took place near Tool Plaza Pahalgam. He has been identified as Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Rehman Sheikh of Laripora Pahalgam.

21-Year-Old Boy Commits Suicide in Anantnag

A 21 years old boy (name withheld) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at Kandaji Brariangan in Utersoo area of south Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. On Saturday morning, the police got information about a suicide case in Uttersoo. The cause of suicide is not known yet. An official said, “a case has been registered and investigation started”. It’s important to mention here that this is the second suicide case in a week in Uttersoo.On Tuesday, a minor girl had also committed suicide. This is also the sixth case of suicide in the past eight days in Kashmir.

Class 9th Girl Commits Suicide in Islamabad District

A girl committed suicide in Shergund, in the Uttersoo area of Islamabad (Anantanag) district on Tuesday evening. The cause has not been identified so far. The SHO of Uttersoo confirmed the death of the girl saying, “The girl (name withheld) was a minor, a 9th class student and was a resident of Shergund area”. Further adding, the SHO said, “the reason of this drastic step is not known yet, the investigation has been initiated”.

Sheikh Nadeem Inhabitants of Palpora Ara Koshipora  and Damhaal area in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Monday alleged that the Jal Shakti Department (Public Health Engineering PHE) has failed to provide adequate water supply to them. The residents accused the department of ignoring their constant plights as unscheduled water supply is being provided in the area.
