National Lok Adalat Held in Islamabad (Anantnag)- 66 Cases Settled

December 08 National Lok Adalat was organised by the District Legal Services Authority in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) today, at District Court Complex. Six Benches were constituted for holding of the said National Lok Adalat, all over the district, under the supervision of Principal District & Sessions Judge and Chairman DLSA Anantnag Syed Tawqeer Ahmad along with Munsif Judge Moha,mad Altaf Khan and Sub Judge Rafia Hassan Khaki who are also the members of District Legal Services Authority Anantnag (DLSA). Out of 157 cases, related to recovery suits, MACT, Electricity cases, Civil and Matrimonial cases, taken up in the said National Lok Adalat, a total settlement amount of Rs. 9919966 was awarded in favour of 66 settled cases. Naveed Jutt Killing- Dooru Shuts for Second Consecutive Day

ISLAMABAD
November 29 A complete shutdown is being observed in Dooru area of Islamabad (Anantnag) of South Kashmir against the killing of Naveed Jatt on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that roads in the Dooru area are wearing a deserted look, shops and other business establishments are shut while vehicular movement is thin on the streets. Meanwhile train services in Kashmir have been suspended.

Naveed Jatt Killing- Spontaneous Shutdown in Dooru, Clashes in Khanabal

November 28 Intense clashes have erupted in the Khanabal area of Islamabad (Anantnag) of South Kashmir against the killing of Naveed Jatt on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro Freedom and Anti India slogans hit the streets and threw stones on Forces deployed in the area. The Forces tried to disperse the youth by throwing tear smoke shells, however the clashes were going on, when this report was filed. Meanwhile a shutdown was observed in Main Market of Dooru area after minor clashes began in the area in afternoon. Meanwhile train services in Kashmir have been suspended.  

Forces Ransack Property in Islamabad (Anantnag) Township

November 27 The Locals in Shirpora area of Islamabad (Anantnag) township in South Kashmir have accused the Government Forces of vandalization in the locality just now. Locals from the area told The Kashmiriyat that forces barged into Shirpora area and smashed vehicles in the area. Intense Clashes Erupt in Achabal Area as Area Goes to Polls Today

November 27 Intense Stone throwing clashes erupted between protests and Government Forces in Tailwani Locality of Achabal in South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) as the area goes to polls today. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that youth hurled stones on the troops deployed  in the area who fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters. At least 30 Youth Arrested in Achabal Belt During Raids

ISLAMABAD
November 25 At least thirty youth have been arrested during raids in the Achabal belt of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) ahead of Panchayat Polls in the area in the past two days. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that thirty youth have been picked up during raids in Achabal, Hardpora, Breenti, Badoora, Trahpu areas of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District by Government Forces. Some of the youth have been identified as Nawaz Ahanger, Amir Sofi, Akash Wani, Umar Nisar, Owais Sofi, all residents of Achabal belt. A police official told The Kashmiriyat that the youth have been arrested in connection with the Panchayat Polls scheduled on 27 November in the area. Three Injured during Clashes in Islamabad (Anantnag) Area, One Hit with a Bullet

November  23 At least three persons have been injured during intense clashes that erupted after congregational Friday prayers in Bijbehara town of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that one of the three injured received a bullet in his right arm and shifted to Srinagar hospital for treatment, while the other two have been treated in local hospital. Restrictions in Islamabad (Anantnag), Internet Services Barred

November 23 Mobile internet services have been barred in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District early morning on Friday after an Encounter raged in the Bijbehara belt of the District. Telecom authorities received a communication from the Officials to bar internet in the District, Telecom officers told The Kashmiriyat. Mobile internet services including 2G, 3G and 4G have been barred in the Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Meanwhile Forces have been deployed in large numbers across Islamabad (Anantnag) township as a precautionary measure to avoid protests in the area. 6 Militants Reportedly Killed in the Ongoing Bijbehara Encounter

November 23 Six Militants have been Killed in an encounter that broke out  early morning encounter between militants and government forces in Sekipora area of Bijbhera in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of army's 3 RR and Jammu Kashmir Police had sealed all the entry and exit points to the area after launching a cordon and search operation in Sekipora around 2 am. During the searches the holed up militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter. Six Armed Militants who were trapped in a residential house at Sekipora area amid massive exchange of gunfire have been killed, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.
