Danishwar Hameed A 19-year-old youth from South Kashmir's Kulgam district has gone missing. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the family of the youth identified as Ikhlas Ahmad Hajam son of Abdul Ahad Hajam a resident of Kujjar said that today their son went missing. The family has filed a missing report at the concerned Police station in Yaripora.

Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that a government lecturer from Dadipora village died soon after complaining about sudden severe pain in the chest at his home. They said Mysar Maqbool (37 years old) presently was a lecturer at GHHS Qoimoh was immediately rushed to a nearby healthcare facility, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. They further added Sameer Ahmad Wani (14 years old) from same village, after hearing the news of Myser Maqbool’s death, he too suffered a massive cardic arrested and died on the spot. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the bridge collapsed when a truck was crossing it and the vehicle was stuck in the broken portion of the bridge. The bridge connects various areas with district headquarters in the South Kashmir district of kulgam. The local appeals to higher authorities to repair this bridge as soon as possible.

After the fresh firing resumed one more militant has been killed, taking toll to three in an ongoing encounter at Chimmer area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday. A senior Police Officer told GNS, that another militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter, however identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained. Earlier, during the first round of firefight two militants were killed, he added. Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police, army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Chimmer. The low tension lines hanging on wooden logs and tree trunks in Kahrote village of South Kashmir's Kulgam district pose a threat to the local residents as the Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to maintain the lines properly. Locals of Kahrote in South Kashmir's Kulgam district told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that most of the low tension (LT) lines have been erected on wooden logs and tree trunks as the authorities have failed to lay lines as per the set procedure.
