School Bus on Picnic Meets Accident in Islamabad (anantnag)- 13 Children Injured

May 03 Thirteen children were injured when a bus they were travelling in met an accident near Siligam area of Mattan in South Kashmir's Islamabad(Anantnag) district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a bus number JK03 2711 was on the way to Doudpath High School in Kokernag area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) district on Friday evening when it met an accident near Siligam area of Mattan. out of the fourty children and four teachers travelling in the bus, thirteen children were injured in the accident, the locals rushed to the venue and helped the children to the nearby hospital in Seer. Roadside Vendors Thrashed by Government Officials in Islamabad (Anantnag) Township

May 03 Suhail Dar The roadside vendors in the Islamabad (anantnag) township in South Kashmir have alleged that they were rounded up and thrashed by the officials of the Municipal committee of the Islamabad (anantnag) township. The vendors alleging the officials thrashed them without any provocation speaking to The Kashmiriyat demanded strict action against the Executive official of the Municipal council. They said that the Municipal council has been taking a fund of 30 rupees per day to be on the streets and earn their livelihood to feed their families. DC Islamabad (anantnag) Releases Financial Aid for Officials Injured in Kokernag Road Accident on Election Day

ISLAMABAD
May 02 The Deputy Commissioner for Islamabad (anantnag), Khalid Jahangir has sanctioned Rs 320000 as financial assistance to persons who were injured in the road accidents on the polling day in the district on 23 April 2019 at Zalangam, Sagam and Buchoo area of Kokernag in this South Kashmir district. Three injured persons, as per an official press release, have been provided Rs 20,000 each and 26 other injured were given Rs 10,000 each out of Red Cross Fund for medical treatment.

Man falls from a Tree in Anantnag, Dies

ISLAMABAD
April 29 A man identified as Firdous Ahmad Sheikh son of Gull Mohammad Sheikh resident of Larkipora, Anantnag fell from a Poplar tree in Kuchipora village near Larkipora area of Islamabad (Ananatnag) on Monday afternoon. He was rushed to district hospital Islamabad (Anantnag) but succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital. Station House Officer (SHO) Dooru Showkat Ahmad told The Kashmiriyat that case has been registered and the investigation has been started.

Students Protest to Demand Buses in Budgam

April 27 The Students of  various areas of Arizal area on Saturday staged a protest demonstration in Beerwah town against the shortage of bus service on the Beerwah-Arizal route. The protesting students blocked the road and raised slogans against the administration to demand the availability of the buses during morning and evening hours. They said that despite repeated requests to the administration, no action has been taken so far.

April 27 The District Magistrate Khalid Jahangir in exercise of the powers vested under section 144 CrPc, has ordered ban on the sale and purchase of chemical/acids in district Anantnag for a period of two months with immediate effect According to the official communique, the ban has been imposed after it has been noticed that rampant sale and acids is going on in the district without any checks and balances.
