Fresh Snowfall Predicted in Kashmir Valley From Friday, Cold wave Continues unabated

The MeT has predicted moderate to heavy snowfall in Kashmir plains on the 11th and 12th of January.

“Widespread moderate to heavy snowfall in Kashmir & rains in plains of Jammu division most likely from this evening to 11th and 12th of January.”

Some places may receive heavy snowfall which may affect surface & air traffic mainly on 5 Jan, Director MeT Sonam Lotus said.

Meanwhile the cold wave conditions continued unabated on Wednesday in the Kashmir Valley, dropping minimum temperatures several notches below the freezing point.

Kashmir’s capital city Srinagar recorded minus 3.0 degrees Celsius while tourist resort Pahalgam recorded minus 5.0 and ski resort Gulmarg recorded minus 2.2, as the minimum temperatures on Wednesday.
