Tangath bridge in Bandipora continues to remain incomplete; locals suffer

Residents of Tangath village and its adjoining areas of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district are suffering due to the delay in completion of the vital bridge that connects Tangath village to the Pannar area.

Locals while complaining about the grievance told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the bridge was sanctioned years ago by the government following which the work on it began last year but since then only pillars have been half raised.

The villagers said that they are facing much difficulties in absence of this bridge as it is supposed to connect Tangath and other adjoining remote villages to the Pannar area.

“For the past one year, the construction work on the bridge is going at a snail’s pace,” Mushtaq Ahmad, a local, said, adding that students face life threatening conditions having to go to school walking through the forest.
