District administration Srinagar has ordered strict corona curfew in some areas of the city for the period of 10 days starting today. As per an order issued by district magistrate Srinagar Dr. Aijaz Asad, there shall be strict Corona Curfew in the areas of Zadibal (SMC) Ward No’s: 55-Hawal, 56-Alamgari Bazar, & 63-Kathi Darwaz) and Lal Bazar (SMC Ward No’s: 59-Lalbazar, 60-Botshah Mohalla, 61-Umer Colony) for a period of 10 days starting from today. (A) Permissible Activities: i. All essential services including all incidental services and activities needed for smooth functioning of these activities shall be allowed to continue, both in the public and private sector. Irshad Hussain Body of a 20-year-old youth, a student of 3rd semester of BSC Radiology, from Central Kashmir's Budgam district was found hanging from solar plant on the terrace of a college hostel in Panjab. Brother of the deceased youth, Umar Ahad Dev, while talking to The Kashmiriyat said that they left home the moment they received the news that something had happened with Umar. Rains in most parts of the Kashmir valley have brought respite from a hot summer, where temperatures surpassed 35 degrees in July. On Sunday morning, heavy showers across the valley are being welcomed by people especially the farmers. The temperatures in the valley dropped down to below 20 degrees. "the weather is likely to improve by Tuesday," officials said on Sunday. Independent Weather monitoring site, Kashmir weather, reported, "Western Disturbance is slowly moving eastwards. Under its influence, rain/thundershowers are expected at most places of Jammu Kashmir during the next 3 - 8hrs. Significant improvement in weather is expected from the evening."

Danishwar Hameed/ Meer Irfan  Four Militants have been killed during two encounters in the Kashmir valley- three in the Shokbaba forest area of Bandipora and one in Yaripora area of Kulgam. An official told The Kashmiriyat that joint forces including Indian Army's 14 RR, Bandipora police, Para force, MARCOS and CRPF are engaged in the operation in Bandipora forests. The operation was launched on Saturday morning. Three militant bodies were retrieved from the encounter site and arms and ammunition including three AK-47 rifles have also been recovered so far.
